Devotion: Engaging with The Lord
The most beautiful relationship I've ever known is our relationship with God. Through the salvation we gained, He has a way to be inside of us, of our spirit. It is sometimes like not real, but it is. We only have to train our spirit to touch Him daily and make this our habit. We all know John 1:1, right? It is said that God has become the Word. The Word is so close to us today. Now it is our turn to decide; to engage or not to engage with Him in our daily living.
Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Are you surprise with the word 'ate' in Jeremiah 15:16? Do you consider it unusual? How can we eat God's words? Is it possible? Jesus said in John 16:51 that He is the living bread which came down from heaven. The Israelites used to eat manna every day in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is shadow, and Christ in New Testament is the reality. He is that 'manna'. We have no other spiritual food, but Christ. Praise the Lord that the food is available today.
